Chocolate in the morning? Yes, please!
I’ve always been a huge chocolate fan but not so much in the AM nor in the form of protein powder. Yet lately, I’ve been gravitating towards breakfast smoothies with a sweet side and a punch of fresh flavor. Long story short, mint + chocolate protein powder = an amazing Mint Chocolate Protein Smoothie! It also tastes like Thin Mints and, I mean come one, who doesn’t love that?!
I’ve been growing some herbs in my apartment over the past few months (more to come on that later) and I’ve been using fresh mint, basil, parsley and more in as many ways possible. And the Mint seems to be growing the fastest so I had to put it to use somehow. Since I don’t cook with mint too often, a smoothie is a perfect place to sneak some in.
This Mint Chocolate Protein Smoothie comes together in a flash (like most smoothies), is full of protein and a handful of vitamins, and brings a dessert feeling to any time of day – breakfast, afternoon pick-me-up or post workout snack, it’s up to you! I hope you enjoy 🙂
– 1 scoop Chocolate Protein Powder of your choice
– 1/2 banana
– Handful of spinach or kale
– 5-6 mint leaves
– 1/2 – 1 cup of Almond milk or milk of your choice
Place all of the ingredients into a blender and let it go until everything is combined. Enjoy!
